AMERICAN FLAG PIE

My husband loves pie, so any time I have an excuse to make a pie, he loves it. Not many things are more American than a pie...except maybe a pie that looks like the American flag... :) It is a great patriotic dessert for the fourth of July.

For the filling, I added a mixture of cherry pie filling, pitted dark cherries, and strawberries. For the "stars" portion of the pie, I added blueberry pie filling and fresh blueberries. To make sure that the blueberries didn't mix with the cherries, I sectioned off the pie crust with some tinfoil. That allowed me to get clean lines to show the different parts of the American flag. I removed the tinfoil and then added some stars and stripes with the leftover pie crust. Then baked it.

Did you guy's have a good Father's day? We enjoyed just hanging out with each other, and I got my husband a SodaStream. This man loves his carbonated water! And I look forward to making some homemade sodas. The kids picked out some "gifts for dad," like legos and cars :)

TO ALL THE FATHERS

My husband and I have great fathers and my husband is a great father himself-I am a little partial, but I think he is the g r e a t e s t father. Here is a little video about fathers that I watch with my kids almost every Sunday-while my husband is away serving people at church, we think about how selfless and giving he is. We love him so much!

4TH OF JULY YOGURT POPS

Hey these yogurt pops are a super easy way to have a festive dessert on the fourth of July. I just filled some popsicle molds with three different types of yogurt. I used blueberry, vanilla and strawberry. I did add some fresh blueberries and strawberries in there. Also, because the organic yogurt I buy isn't really that vibrant in color, I added a little bit of red and blue food coloring. See, easy and fast and perfect for a warm July day.
