My husband loves pie, so any time I have an excuse to make a pie, he loves it. Not many things are more American than a pie...except maybe a pie that looks like the American flag... :) It is a great patriotic dessert for the fourth of July.
For the filling, I added a mixture of cherry pie filling, pitted dark cherries, and strawberries. For the "stars" portion of the pie, I added blueberry pie filling and fresh blueberries. To make sure that the blueberries didn't mix with the cherries, I sectioned off the pie crust with some tinfoil. That allowed me to get clean lines to show the different parts of the American flag. I removed the tinfoil and then added some stars and stripes with the leftover pie crust. Then baked it.Jun 19, 2013

4TH OF JULY YOGURT POPS
Hey these yogurt pops are a super easy way to have a festive dessert on the fourth of July. I just filled some popsicle molds with three different types of yogurt. I used blueberry, vanilla and strawberry. I did add some fresh blueberries and strawberries in there. Also, because the organic yogurt I buy isn't really that vibrant in color, I added a little bit of red and blue food coloring. See, easy and fast and perfect for a warm July day.
