Yesterday, school and work were cancelled because of a snow storm, so it was the perfect day to sit inside drinking hot cocoa. My husband and the boys spent time snow blowing the driveway and having a snowball fight. I took the much warmer task of making the hot cocoa for when they were done. This was the first time I used this recipe and we all loved it! It was so creamy and rich.
Homemade Hot Cocoa:
recipe source: {here}
Ingredients:
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup white sugar
1 pinch salt
1/3 cup boiling water
3 1/2 cups milk
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup half and half
chocolate shavings
homemade whipped topping

Yum - this brings back memories of my Mom making it the old fashioned non-stop stirring way... and then my brother would hog it all ;-)

ReplyDeleteLOVE the first photograph.
ReplyDeleteLove this. Who knew it was so easy to do this yourself? I bet it tastes way better than the packets you can buy at the store. :)
ReplyDeleteYum! This sounds really good :) Love your scarf in the background too. Visiting from Whatever Goes Wednesday.
